“I want to first say thank you to Vero for opening herself to receive this call and answer it, for creating this beautiful opportunity for us to come and gather in circulo together. I want to second give thanks to all the amazing humans that joined us throughout this deep dive into the continuous reclamation of our ancestral medicine, thank you for being witnesses and for coming together to hold space. Last and just as equally as important, thank you to the ancestors who were holding us down as a group and to the ancestors who showed up individually to guide and protect us and show us, for the plantcestors, for the animalitos, for the land, the water the air, the fire… I felt their presence sustaining us as we did this deep and at times painful work. Gracias.
This particular circulo has changed the course of my life in ways I could have never imagined. The ripples of what has been ignited within my ancestral memories will continue to grow and reach my children and future generations past and those to come. While I wasn’t sure where this excavation would lead me to, it has left me feeling empowered to continue learning, searching, connecting, and rebuilding my relationship to myself, my ancestral relatives and my spiritual guides. I feel more validated and secure within my own capabilities to continue tending to the very deep colonial wounds within my spirit, more confident in putting down challenges that were not meant for me to carry that were passed down, and encouraged that I can continue redirecting my path to one that is more aligned with who I am and with the ancestor I am already growing to be. While the world is on literal fire everywhere I turn to look, I am reassured that my feet are exactly where I am meant to be… I can trust where my feet lead me and the voice I hear within. Sitting in circle as we explored our own ancestral walks was like a balm to my spirit, a small creek to my internal fires, and like a warm hug from my Abuela. I look forward to continuing to work with Vero and continuing my healing path toward deepening my relationship with my ancestors and with an open corazon. Grateful to witness and to have been witnessed in a way that while it felt new in the moment, my bones felt the familiarity of sitting in circulo and healing as a community<3 My children are eternally grateful. May we continue to love despite/with/through the rage and to resist IN love and life.

a reflection…when I learned that Vero was going to offer a group I knew I had to join. I had actually been waiting for this (wink wink). Vero has such a power-full yet gentle spirit. I wasn’t sure what to expect or who would join but this invitation came right on time. The mujeres that joined the group held us all in such a beautiful way. I cannot even begin to describe or share all the ways spirit was in the space with us…literal spiritual fireworks! Pura Magia!

Vero has the gift of creating a space of community, sisterhood, safety, and magic.
